Barcelona was a fun and vibrant city! We spent 3 days there, enjoying the nice weather and energetic atmosphere. On our first day, we once again did a free walking tour with New Europe Tours to learn about the history and get a lay of the land. We ate a lot of delicious food in Barcelona; anywhere from mouth watering tacos near the pier to gourmet donuts in Park de Guell.

We rested a lot in Spain since it was closer to the middle of our trip, but we were still able to see a lot of this lively city! We window shopped along La Rambla and stumbled upon the Mercado de la Boqueria, a huge food market with every type of food imaginable! It was colorful and exciting; my eyes didn’t know where to go first. Our daily adventures always seemed to bring us back to La Rambla.

We went out for the first time on our trip in Barcelona. We got drunk off cheap wine and HUGE wine glasses at our hostel, and stumbled our way downtown to find a night club. Along the way we met two guys form Belgium who only spoke French. They were in Barcelona on a layover on their way home after a bachelor party they went to in Ibiza. So, we walked with them until we found the club, speaking incoherent French and laughing because it was so ridiculous. We danced all night and had a blast… and a wicked hangover the next day.

One of the most iconic and spectacular parts of Barcelona is the architecture by Antoni Gaudi. It is eccentric and bizarre and totally mesmerizing. We took the city bus up to Park de Guell and walked around in its beauty. We ate the best donuts I’ve ever eaten- cronut with Nutella filling, raspberry icing and white chocolate chips on top (aka heaven). Then we explored what felt like wonderland. The Park overlooks the entire city and the view is breath taking. The buildings are unique and creative and full of colour, it is a must see if you visit Barcelona.

Overall, we made some amazing memories in Barcelona. The city is full of life and energy and it fills whoever visits with a kaleidoscope of colour.I would go back for one of those donuts any day.
